Welcome! Thanks for vistiting my website!

This site will regularly post tips (mainly focusing on exposure and development tecniques) to bring your photography to the next level.

Soon I'll have a message board included on this page for everyone, but until then this part of my page will be dedicated to your questions, comments, suggestions, and tips. You can also Email me some of your own photography, and I'll post that as well.

To create speed and dynamics in your photography, you could try zooming back during exposure. This turns a stationary figure into the center of swirling, fast movement (part of the picture blurs to suggest movement).
This does require a longer exposure time, so you would need to compensate by adjusting your aperture accordingly.
If you'd like to know more about this technique, Email me, and I'll be glad to give you all the advice I have.
An Interesting Effect...
For Better Texture... To capture the texture of an object properly, you must avoid direct sunlight or studio light. This will strip the photo of it's texture even if you can see it when taking the picture. The trick is to get up as close as possible. Don't use your zoom or telephoto lenses.

Focus could also be the problem if your texture shots don't turn out properly. Play with the focus for a few minutes to be sure.

To bring out texture during the developing process, simply increase your enlarger exposure time (only by a few seconds--we don't want it to be black). This will bring out the crevaces and pathways in your photography. But be careful--it will also bring out all the flaws in your negitives. If you have a texture shot on film, treat that film with care, or this technique will show all it's scratches and fingerprints. Photoflow is our freind.
